I watched the “The Ritual of the Meal” video yesterday from MontessoriGuide.org and absolutely loved it.  It just simply shows the beauty of practical life skills in the Montessori classroom (and I have to admit, evokes memories of my own children). These skills to me are as essential as the academic skills being developed at that age, to aid in becoming a thoughtful and productive member of the community. I love how engaged the children are and how they work together to prepare the lunch environment for each other. Watching this just makes me happy.
